Please visit the SJCCA Dance website for information about the Virtual Dance Audition.

Guitar:

  • Students wishing to be selected for Guitar 3 or higher should be prepared to play “Aguado”.  Students wishing to audition for Guitar 2 should prepare the Andantino piece. If placed in Guitar 1, that course is not an SJCCA course and will require that you are in zone for St. Augustine HS.

Please play the selected song via a Private YouTube Link and submit to Trey Brewer at [email protected]

Mr. Brewer will then contact you for a Zoom time to hear other skills.

  • You must have an accompaniment track. You cannot perform a cappella.
  • Students must also prepare a 30 second cut of a monologue, preferably from a published piece of work (ex. Play, Musical, Movie, TV), NOT a monologue written especially for auditions.
  • Record both of these pieces in ONE VIDEO telling us what each piece is and submit the Private YouTube links to Mr. Romeo-Adcock at [email protected]

Play a brief selection (no longer than three minutes) that best demonstrates their capabilities. Students must bring their own music to the audition. Playing by ear is not acceptable! The piece should be something that the student has learned recently. Rock, gospel, or pop selections are not appropriate.

Technique, musicianship, rhythm, accuracy, tone, posture, artistic practice, audition preparation, engagement, and professionalism will be assessed for both the prepared piece and the sight reading selection.
